Availabilities based on employee preference of not working or only being able to work on specific days of the week and specific times of the day are not aligned with a company that is open seven days a week, and usually in need of the most employees and shifts on the weekends and in the evenings as closing shifts.
You will share with us your weekly school class schedule and school related event schedule. Each employee in school will be asked to complete the form for the fall semester, and then in December for the spring semester, and again in April for the Summer Semester.
Non school weekly events will need to be requested off for on a weekly basis. You would be well advised to not rush out and try to request off every weekend for the foreseeable future, as a go around. Should this happen, we will deny your requests.
We appreciate your understanding. Not every employee was required to complete an availability, because not every position in the restaurant requires the ability to work weekends or evenings. These specific shifts will remain on the consistent schedule, as we have always done. These employees will be notified that their positions are exempted.
Please know that our flexibility will, overall, remain the same. We are still committed to working around your school schedules in the manner we always have, and we will continue to be understanding of your personal schedules through Request Offs.
We will allow switching, as our Switching Shift Policy will remain the same as it has been.
Request Offs will remain with the current policy, the same as it has been.
